Position Control and Locking of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor for Propeller Drives in Drones.

The solution implements a state machine to handle different states of the motor, such as idle, speed control, and position control state. Where the thesis look into how control the positioning with minimal hardware. The state machine is built into the open-source RTOS (ChibiOS), that the open-source motor controller (VESC) is built with.

The paper presents a hall-effect sensor-assisted non-linear observer-based solution for position locking of a surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SMPMSM) propeller drive in drone applications. The paper is based on the work from the Master's Thesis.
